Although I have been in the Towing Industry for some 20 years, when asked I often say that I am in the people business. The reason for that is if I pull up to an accident, breakdown or recovery, I try to look after the person first rather than what needs to be towed. For instance, if I rocked up to your house one day to pick up your $250,000 Mercedes... you would want to feel confidant not only with the equipment used to collect your car, but more so the operator using it! My view is it's no good having thousands of dollars worth or gear if you don't know how to use it and you have the personality of a wet mop. So building that rapport with people is very important.

My first truck was a J1 Bedford back in the early 80's with short poles and a hand winch. It had no air con, no power steer and no V8... it was just a plain old six cylinder, but it was probably the best truck I ever owned. I had built a warm 350 Chevy to drop into it and despite trying to run the old oil leaking engine into the ground, I couldn't kill it. That truck was even stolen and dumped into a lake and I remember thinking finally it's dead, but ended up reversing the damn thing out of the water. A few years later, I would end up selling the truck and new engine separately!

I love my job and the people I get to meet are great. My job has enabled me to see a lot of interesting places and do some fantastic things. There is a down side to my work of course which is the serious incidents I sometimes have to attend. Another question I am asked frequently is how I deal with it? There are some prangs you can't deal with, you just get through it!

The reason I started this site was to try and give people an idea of how quickly things can go wrong when driving a car and hopefully to give you options of what to do. There will be photos of accidents and so forth on this site and there will be a few chuckles as well because, cars can end up in some very interesting resting spots. The photos you will see on this site will not include any fatal accidents and I have my own reasons for that. If blood and gore is what you're looking for, watch the 6 o'clock news.

I hope you enjoy this site and come for a visit regularly as I update once a month.
